Center for Education and Development ‘s (CED) work in Somalia epitomises resilience. Faced with challenges that have characterised the humanitarian environment in the last two decades, CED has operational strategies to mitigate problems of access. Education is delivered to strengthen the ability of the community to take advantage of the many opportunities presented by the political and economic environment. Recognizing the challenges faced by international organizations in delivering aid to those most in need in Somalia, CED has taken a positive steps in ensuring construction and rehabilitation of education infrastructure in rural areas rarely reached by international aid. CED’s main objective in the provision of education is to ensure that there is increased access to quality basic education and skills training opportunities for relevant age groups in Somalia.
