1- Saving lives through Emergency Assistance
Humanitarian needs for a countrywide population plugged by devastating conflict and disasters (drought, famine, floods, Tsunami) under an anarchic state, are quite enormous. CED, as a LNGO operating in 4 regional states in the country has been contributing to saving human lives (host & IDP Communities) with water trucking, water supply, food & Non-food items distribution and cash transfer through Relief Aid assisting thousands of vulnerable people dwelling in SC regions.
With genuine support from local communities & authorities, major interventions being undertaken by CED during the last 15 years period in Somalia included among others, Relief Aid of food and Non-Food Items distributions to drought, famine Tsunami and floods affected communities in Galgaduud, Southern Mudug, L & M Shabelle and Banadir regions in SC Somalia. Such interventions were aimed at saving lives, promoting access to basic services of households’ needs, e. g. food, water, medical care, and shelter/Non-Food Items in fair manner.
