9 – Reconstruction and state building
The new political dispensation and aid architecture favours reconstruction and development based interventions. Leveraging on its experiences and sustained work in Somalia, CED has emphasized resilience-building among vulnerable communities to give them the armour to fight future disasters. For example, communities living in flood prone areas have been provided with Community Managed Risk Reduction (CMRR) Skills while dialogue between youth and the local leaders has been promoted to promote peace and reconciliation.
